Estas palabras como las anteriores son de la primera mujer negra en ganar el premio nobel de literatura. Dos cosas estaban en su contra: es mujer y negra. Una cosa estaba a su favor... encontró su voz. ¿Para qué ser libres?. ¿Libres para imitar o copiar?. Dejar de ser nosotros para ser, ¿quién?. ¿Qué?. Que podamos encontrar nuestra voz no importa seas hombre o mujer. Blanca, negra o latina. Nuestra voz y no la de ningún otro para poder ser realmente libres.
